NO EXCUSES.

When I tell women that I am a boudoir photographer, most women say, "I have always wanted to do that!". Listed below are the most common reasons women think they can't do a boudoir session. Obviously, I am here to tell you why you should reconsider.

I’M NERVOUS

I totally get it, and it’s totally normal! I think so many of the nerves come from not knowing what to expect. From the day you contact me, to receiving your final product, I will be there guiding you through the process. As for the actual shoot, you might be nervous for the first 5 minutes—but you will get over that really fast! I give so much direction, that you won’t have space in your head for nerves. You will never feel like you don’t know what to do. I am there to guide you every step of the way!

I’M NOT SEXY

Ummm…yes. Yes you are! That being said, I think so many women believe that they need to show-up and be sexy for the camera. I will never, EVER put you in front of the camera and say, “be sexy!”. You are not on your own for this session! In fact, most of you being sexy…is my job! Granted, I will ask you to turn it up, play, and have fun…but never without direction and coaching.

I WANT TO LOSE 10-20 POUNDS FIRST

One of my all time favorite quotes is from Jen Rozenbaum, a friend and renown boudoir photographer in NYC, “People say that the camera adds 10 pounds. That’s wrong. The photographer adds 10 pounds.” Ladies, it’s all about the wardrobe and the posing. IF done correctly, your images will flatter you in a way that you might even feel like you lost 10 pounds!

YOU CAN PHOTOSHOP ME, RIGHT?

Yes and no. I will retouch your images. I will remove breakouts, scars, and bruises. Heck if you have a scar you are proud of—we can leave it there! What I won’t do in photoshop, is change what you look like! All of my “slimming” is done in person when the posing happens. I won’t make your eyes bigger or your forehead smaller. It’s important to me that your images reflect the beautiful woman that you are!

I DON’T WANT MY PICTURES ONLINE

If you don’t want me to share your images—I won't share your images. Plain and simple! Every image that I share, I have received permission to do so.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND

You can absolutely bring a friend! If you feel that you will benefit from bringing your own cheering section…who am I to stop you?! Keep in mind that the studio is not giant…so 15 of your closest friends just wouldn’t work in the small space. Also, if you are doing the session as a gift for someone, I ask that you do not bring that person to your session—it ruins the magic of seeing your images presented in a beautiful album. Lastly, my general rule is, no men in the studio. However, if you think you have an exception to this rule, please check with me first.

I DON’T HAVE ANYONE TO GIVE THE ALBUM TO

You don't have to show a single person your images. This is for YOU. Every woman has their own story. The boudoir experience will have a strong impact on each of you in a different way. Sure, you can do the session and give it as a gift—but I assure you, the boudoir experience is an amazing gift to yourself.
